JD Designs was established in 2019 by Joseph Dellea, a talented artist and craftsman from Rollinsford, NH. He specializes in live edge and epoxy tables—transforming rough, raw, natural wood into quality, smooth, and absolutely beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces.

I had the honor of visiting Joseph’s workshop in Maine, where I was greeted by a very friendly dog when I entered the room. The workshop encapsulated each moment of his craftsmanship and process—I saw all sorts of materials as I looked around. From rough, raw wood leaning against the wall, to long, sanded boards across a table, to glossy pieces waiting for its legs—it was fascinating to see each step of the process. There was a creative energy in the room, where tools and materials, though scattered across the table, were meticulously arranged in just the right way for Joseph to work his craftsmanship. I stopped by the Portsmouth Circle Furniture location right before visiting his workshop, where I got to see one of his finished tables in the showroom. It was a unique experience to be able to see his tables from the start of the process all the way to the finished product in-store.

Craftsmanship & Passion

JD Designs specializes in live edge tables. The term "live edge" refers to leaving at least one side of the wood in its natural, uncut form. Unlike the sharp, clean lines of traditional wooden furniture, live edge pieces showcase the tree’s organic beauty.
